We knew that a Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini-split Hyper Heat system would be just the thing to solve all their problems. Ductless systems use an outdoor heat pump unit and then add indoor “cassettes”- wall mounted units that can control both the temperature and the humidity in a room with a remote control. The units are very quiet- much quieter than traditional window air conditioners, and much more energy efficient. They also distribute the air to a wider area and monitor air quality, a huge benefit especially in a space like the sunroom where we knew it was prone to moisture.
The other advantage of ductless systems like this one is the ability to add cassettes to expand the comfort into separate zones to help make the whole home comfortable. The homeowners opted to put units in their master bedroom, living room and sun room, ensuring they could get perfect comfort wherever they were. And by having the individual zones controlled separately, you can save significant money in energy costs by only heating or cooling the zones you are using, meaning you don’t have to pay to heat or cool the master bedroom, for example, while you’re at work, or watching TV in the living room!

The Mitsubishi Hyper Heat system uses something called inverter technology which can make energy-efficient heat all the way down to -13 F, and the increased efficiency over the existing baseboard heating will mean this family could expect to see significant savings this Winter using the Mitsubishi Electric system for heat over the existing radiators.
